Instructions to integrate an external website built with WordPress or a similar system with your Witei account

Updated over 3 months ago

Witei offers a comprehensive and customizable web service for real estate agencies, with multiple design templates and unique tools specifically developed to provide added value to their clients: property valuation, private area for property owners, collection of feedback on property visits, etc.

We recommend considering the Real Estate Website service offered by Witei, which starts from completely free plans.

More information at: Witei: Real Estate Website.

Below, we detail alternatives to display your properties stored in Witei on your website built with WordPress:

Alternative 1: Using the property search engine offered by Witei

Witei offers within its web service the possibility to use the public property search engine independently. In this way, you will get the benefit of WordPress's flexibility and the power of Witei's property search engine.

Configuration

  1. Create a subdomain of your root domain. Example: properties.mydomain.com

  2. Link the new subdomain to your Witei account.

  3. Set up your website in Witei with the linked external domain you added.

  4. Try opening the property search engine URL in your browser. It will have this format: properties.mydomain.com/find/

  5. Create as many links as you need to your search engine from your WordPress, using the link from the previous step.

Advantages

  1. No advanced technical configuration required.

  2. Your properties will always be synchronized in real-time with your portfolio of available properties stored in Witei.

  3. If you change your WordPress, your property search engine will continue to function normally.

Disadvantages

The Witei property search engine is not customizable. It is designed and developed using the most advanced technologies and usability analysis to generate the highest number of interested contacts for your properties.

Requirements

Normal Web Plan

Alternative 2: Importing properties into WordPress via XML file

If you want your property search engine to be fully integrated into your WordPress website, you have the option to generate an XML file with the available properties from your portfolio stored in Witei. This XML file must be periodically downloaded by your WordPress server, processed, and published in your WordPress search engine.

Configuration

  1. Activate the XML publishing gateway in your account by following the steps detailed in this article: XML Export with your properties.

  2. Copy the link generated to the XML file.

  3. Provide the link to the technical development team responsible for your WordPress website so they can develop a custom solution that allows periodic import of this file into your WordPress property search engine.

Advantages

You will have full control over your website's property search engine.

Disadvantages

  1. The update of the published properties will depend on the configuration of the system developed in your WordPress to import the XML file generated by Witei. Witei updates the XML file every 30 minutes.

  2. It requires a technical development team with knowledge of developing plugins for WordPress.

Important note about technical support offered by Witei

  1. Witei limits its technical support to the XML file generated by Witei.

  2. Witei does not offer support for the configuration, development, maintenance, etc., of WordPress, as it is a tool outside the services provided by Witei.

Additional configuration needed in Witei

Once you change your Witei-made website to an external website, it will be necessary for each property you create in Witei to manually indicate the URL where it will be published.

This will be necessary so that email marketing campaigns sent from Witei link correctly to the properties on your WordPress site.

Steps to follow

You must include the property link on your website in the External URL field in the property form.
