A. Previous steps
Remember that Witei offers you a webmail manager already configured and ready for you to send and receive emails using the professional emails created in Witei.
To be able to use this webmail manager, your new professional email accounts must have been created and appear as active in the section: Settings > Domains > Configure emails.
In case you decide to use an email manager other than the one offered by Witei, please note that Witei will not be able to support or help you with the configuration of these managers, due to the diversity of programs, versions and configuration options. However, if you wish, you can do it using the following configuration parameters:
B. Parameters to set up the mail in other providers
Email accounts registered by Witei can be registered via IMAP, POP and SMTP protocols defined from Gmail, Hotmail or other client.
It is not possible to use EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) to synchronize directly with iPhone, Android, or Outlook.
Using IMAP, POP and SMTP
1. SMTP protocol is used to send mail.
2. POP3 or IMAP protocol is used to receive mails.
Differences between POP3 and IMAP protocol
POP3: This protocol downloads the emails and stores them locally on a single device, this means that you will not be able to view it on several devices but only on one device and you will always have to use this email manager.
IMAP: This protocol stores the emails on the server which allows you to view and read the emails on several devices regardless of the email manager you have configured.
We recommend configuring the external mail manager with IMAP protocol if you need to check your emails from multiple devices, such as a phone, a computer and a tablet.
Configuration data via SMTP protocol
username: your full email address
password: your password
hostname: smtp.qboxmail.com
port: 587 (in case of problems you can try 25 or 465)
security: TLS/SSL
Configuration data via POP3 protocol
username: full email address
password: your password
hostname: pop.qboxmail.com
port: 995
security: TLS/SSL
Configuration data via IMAP protocol
username: full email address
password: your password
hostname: imap.qboxmail.com
port: 993
security: TLS/SSL
Note: For security reasons there are limits on IMAP and POP3 connections. It is important to emphasize this because if you misconfigure the mail manager, and it launches connection requests with incorrect credentials, the server may block your public IP for a while preventively so you will not be able to send mails.

2. You must verify your email address by sending an SMS to your cell phone (only necessary the first time you set it up).
3. After verifying it, it will be configured and you will be able to use the email as usual from your email linked to your Witei web domain.
Important: this configuration may vary depending on the version of Outlook installed on your computer.
Make sure you deactivate the "test" that Outlook/Windows Mail performs during the configuration of the email account, since Qbox rejects the email as it is considered SPAM and that prevents us from being able to finish the configuration of the account:
Outlook also allows you to create backup copies of your emails. To see more, click here.
