How can I use my email domain?

Use your own domain for conversations and campaigns

By using Witei as a communication tool with your contacts, we manage the mailing. This is used also in the Conversations and Campaigns areas.

If you do not personalize this mailing information, Witei will use a generic domain specially generated for it: [email protected]

To enable this option and personalize it you must go to "Settings> Marketing> Sender Domain".

Use your own domain

To be able to send messages from your own domain, you must have previously registered an email domain with any provider of this service.

For example, if my email ends in "@mydomain.com", the domain would be "mydomain.com".

We will show you which DNS records you must include in your domain provider. After that, you must enter again this area in Witei and click on "Start verification".

If the domain is managed by Witei, the DNS records will be configured automatically. To do this you must go to "Settings> Domains> Click on the "tool gear icon" that is next to your managed domain > Click on "Manage emails" > After that, click on "Allow sending emails from Witei".

If you do it following this path, remember that the DNS records will be managed automatically, but for this you must confirm by clicking "Ok" to confirm it in Witei.

If your domain is managed by another provider, you must create the records with the values that appear in the table in your domain provider. If you don't know how to do this, check with your domain provider.

If everything goes well, we will see the word Verified in green instead of Unverified in orange. If you see it orange it means that the configuration has not been done correctly:

In this case, when the configuration is correct, you must also return to the form and click on "Verify".

Important: After this configuration, Witei will be able to use your domain so that the receiver of the message can see it. That means the sender's address that you will use would be [email protected]. Therefore, it will be composed of your username in Witei and the domain that you have configured in Witei with the previous process.

Incoming messaging

Your contacts must reply directly to the message you have sent them to receive on Witei the replies to the messages you send from the conversation tool with your personalized sender domain.

The email response to your message will have this format as the one shown below:

The email format yourusername@parse.mail.witei.com is expected, because it allows Witei to receive the response to your list of conversations.

So, people you send a message with your custom sender domain will see:

  1. There will be a personalized "From" email with the domain you have set as the sender.

  2. There will be a "Reply to" email that is yourusername@parse.mail.witei.com, which will allow Witei to receive responses to messages, campaigns, etc. within the conversations tool.

This "Reply to" email is not modified, it is necessary to have this format for the correct functioning of Witei conversations, and it is the standard way of functioning of all communication unification tools on the market.
